Art has been important in\u00a0the work of the Order right up to the present day. This\u00a0is a dynamic way\u00a0of preaching the Gospel, and the\u00a0Jubilee is\u00a0a good opportunity to present the Order&#8217;s\u00a0artistic heritage\u00a0as well as works by contemporary Dominican artists. Dana Benedicta OP, Katarinahjemmet, Oslo. She has been asked to\u00a0portray Master Eckhart for this project.\u00a0Sr Dana Benedicta describes art as a prayer, a dialogue: &#8216;Jeg betrakter kunsten som en b\u00f8nn, en dialog: aktivt &#8211; n\u00e5r jeg leter etter form, og passivt &#8211; n\u00e5r jeg mottar. Objekter som fremg\u00e5r av denne prosessen, er det synlige tegn p\u00e5 den.<em>&#8216;\u00a0<\/em>Her\u00a0work includes drawing, painting, sculpture and photo. You can find many examples of her work on her blogg, <a title=\"Lenke til sr. Dana Benedictas blogg\" href=\"https:\/\/art3dana.wordpress.com\/\">Art Studio with a View<\/a>\u00a0. She also offers<a title=\"Lenke til kunstleksjoner\" href=\"https:\/\/art3dana.wordpress.com\/category\/art-lessons\/\"> online art lessons<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sr. Dana Benedicta quotes St Augustine of Hippo&#8217;s remark that &#8216;Unity is the form of all beauty&#8217;. Dr Brendan Sammon points out\u00a0in his book <em>The God Who Is Beauty\u00a0<\/em>that these words express\u00a0&#8216;the way in which beauty maintains a close association with the divine&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Another well-known contemporary Dominican artist is fr. Kim en Joong OP. An exhibition of his work\u00a0entitled &#8216;Kim En Joong selon les \u00e9critures&#8217; (Kim en Joong according to scripture) will be held in Aix en Provence (the Jesuit Chapel) from 28 June to 31 July 2015.
